The most recent shows can also be heard on my website home page (at the bottom) once they upload. Tell a friend! ~Steve Turano

Saying you cant gothrough the day without sugar is complte bs. Your body van produce glucose by it self. carbohydrates are not essential.
I still eat some sugar in the form of fruit and vegetable because they are high in vitamins. but i dont eat crap like bread and pasta and shit like that

debbieniful, that’s not really the point of this video. He’s addressing sort of another angle on sugar….and peoples beliefs towards it and what they think it will do. If you want any help on food items specifically,…message me back. I’ll give you the info you seek regarding natural foods, sugar and all of that. Neverthelsss….it’s still VERY important that you understand this video.

SILLY! Did you ask him if he cut out all sugar, including the less obvious?
I am starting my journey to cut out most sugar from my diet BY WHICH I mean no crepes, syrup and DUH of course not just “the white stuff I put in my tea.”
I mean sugar in desserts and in jelly and white bread. I DONT mean fruits. Its not going to be easy, I get confused on sugar in cereal (good cereal, not cocoa puffs!) Does that count? That is the question I thought your video might answer but was thoroughly mistaken.

It’s not unnatural either. Like so many of these things, it require a sense of proportion. Without that, everythings a friggin’ conspiracy theory. HFCS aint great…but it’s not bad and it has very little or nothing to do with the rise in obesity.

There is nothing natural about high fructose corn syrup, that stuff is deadly, not because of its calorie count but because your body can’t matabolize it properly. Calories eaten vs calories burned does not tell the complete weight loss story. What about how your body matabolizes the substances it takes in?

Sugar doesn’t really do much for me regarding weight gain. I’m referring to simple sugars such as table sugar and high fructose corn syrop. As he said, sugar doesn’t exactly contain a lot of calories unless you are consuming a lot of it (only 4,5 a gram). Breads and dairy products are packed with calories though, pizza anyone? If you’re serious about loosing weight, then cut down both of those things, drinking diet drinks is nowhere enough.

True, but sugar is found in a lot of common foods. Even ketchup. Sugars are carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are one of the macro nutrients (fat, protein, carbs). An access of any of these isn’t good; and it’s most easily to get an access of carbs, because the American diet is SURROUNDED by carbs; white pasta, white bread, ice cream, anything sugary…all carbs. It’s EASY to get an access of carbs. That’s why cutting out ADDED sugar is SMART.

That is correct!! People make such a confusing issue out of getting lean. I simply cut the calories SLIGHTLY. Over time that adds up big time. I increase my walking slightly,…that adds over time big time. I don’t actually count the calories however. I keep track of the volume of food that I eat daily in a journal. We’re creatures of habit and you’ll see that you eat pretty much the same volume…and even foods from day to day. I let the scale and the waist measurment do the cutting for me.

instead of saying, “i quit eating sugar”, people should say, “i’m eating less.” i know the secret to fat loss, “put down the fork!” lol jk jp…but really though. counting calories works…eat basically whatever you want, but just keep count of the amount of calories, 2000 calories a day if you wanna weigh around 200…1500 calories a day if you wanna around 150…do the math from there and you’re set, don’t even have to run to lose weight. plus you’ll get toned up in the process, just lift

For ME, one sugary refined meal begets the next. It can start a chain of refined calorie heavy meals. It then takes either discipline, hard exercise or a long walk to get me eating right again. If I continue on without stop, my mood tends to drop, my thinking is not as clear and I get less done in a days time. This may just be ME. I’m sure a lot of people will not suffer this secondary effect. But even with all that said, if your daily calorie intake is less then you burn,..you will lose wieght.

I personally believe that your best chance at losing weight is through whole foods where the bulk and fiber are NOT removed. You tend to get more full and satisfied at each meal, GENERALLY for a few less calories. What’s more is that whole foods will spike your insulin less and depending how sensitive you are to it, you’ll tend to come to the next meal with your blood glucose levels on a more even keel. You’ll tend to desire less or be satisfied with another healthy lower calorie meal later on.

well steve’s video here is about weight so i assumed thats what you were talking about. you’re 100% right about the refined foods thing though. being healthy and losing weight do not necessarily go hand in hand.

@cokburn625
Did I even mention once about weight? lol Weight is the least of our worries in eating refined foods. Read “Sugar Blues.” Refined foods and refined sugars are DIRECTLY responsible for hyper/hypotension, diabetes, celiacs, headaches, acne, liver problems, excess fatigue,…the list goes on. And your main concern is about weight??? Stick to whole, unpolished grains and sugars, keeping poished grains minimal if any.

actually i’ve read studies that researched the difference in weight loss between people eating whole grains vs refined grains and the difference is negligible. sure whole grains have more fiber and are more natural, hence probably healthier, but as far as weight loss goes there isnt much difference

@jcarlangas I think that it would depend on how much white sugar foods you were eating, e.g, if you normally drank cocal cola then switched to the diet version this would save 100s of caloires, also if you were putting 2 teaspoons in each tea with 6 cups a day then stopped, or if you swapped choc bars for fruit at snacks then again less calories. Also does anyone know why we talk about calories but here in Australia the food is measured in kiljoules?
